Miami-Dade school leaders push to renew local property-tax measure

Miami-Dade school officials are seeking voter approval to renew a property tax that supports teacher salaries, school safety, and district operations.

The proposed renewal would continue a tax approved in 2022, charging approximately $100 for every $100,000 of taxable property value. School officials argue that the measure is increasingly important after the district faced budget reductions of more than 3% and ongoing financial pressure. The funds help support teacher compensation, safety programs, and essential school services. Voters are expected to decide on the renewal during the November 3 election, making the measure relevant to Miami-Dade homeowners and taxpayers. For more information click here.
