Florida lawmakers approved a package of tax changes that could affect residents, homeowners and businesses across the state.
The tax package includes several changes involving sales and property taxes. The back-to-school sales-tax holiday would run annually from July 20 through August 20. Homeowners purchasing qualifying impact-resistant doors, windows and garage doors could request sales-tax refunds for purchases made between July 1, 2026, and June 30, 2029. The package also includes property-tax changes, such as requiring online residential listing platforms to display estimated property taxes and allowing certain homeowners to transfer their “Save Our Homes” benefit from a prior homestead abandoned within the previous three years.
