Hialeah has introduced a tax relief initiative that will provide refund checks to qualifying senior homeowners to help reduce their property tax burden.
The city of Hialeah has launched its first property tax relief program, sending refunds of about $539 to more than 6,600 low-income senior homeowners. To qualify, residents must be at least 65 years old, meet income requirements, and have a homestead exemption. The program aims to help older residents manage rising living costs and property taxes while remaining budget-neutral for the city. Officials say the initiative could serve as a model for other Florida municipalities. Formore information click here.
