Changes ahead for Medicare enrollment in 2025
In 2025, Medicare will introduce significant changes affecting over 67 million beneficiaries. Key updates include a reduction in out-of-pocket drug costs, with a new $2,000 annual cap on Part D expenses and the elimination of the “donut hole.” While some seniors may save on medications, others could face higher premiums for Medicare Advantage plans. The average Part D premium is projected to decrease to $46.50, and many enrollees can expect zero-dollar premiums. Additionally, new regulations will curb incentives for agents selling Medicare plans to ensure beneficiaries’ interests are prioritized. Beneficiaries are encouraged to review their options carefully during the open enrollment period, which runs until December 7. For more information, click here.
