Florida House passes $5B tax reduction plan
The Florida House has approved a $5 billion tax relief plan that would lower the state sales tax from 6% to 5.25%, with similar cuts for commercial rent, electricity, mobile homes, and certain amusements. The plan also changes how tourist development taxes are used, allowing counties to redirect them toward general funds to help offset property taxes starting in 2026. Lawmakers still need to agree on final details before the changes can take effect. For more information click here.
