Florida House Passes Property Tax Reduction Plan

Florida House lawmakers have passed a sweeping property tax plan… but the Senate hasn’t yet shared its own plan, leaving questions about next steps.

The Florida House of Representatives (including members from Miami) passed a major property tax reduction proposal that would substantially lower property taxes on primary homes. The plan could put a constitutional amendment before voters in November 2026 to eliminate most homestead property taxes.
