Florida’s month-long school tax holiday kicks off this week
Florida’s month-long back-to-school sales tax holiday begins this Friday, offering families significant savings on essential school items. This annual event, now set to occur every August, allows shoppers to purchase clothing, shoes, and backpacks priced at $100 or less, school supplies up to $50, learning aids up to $30, and personal computers up to $1,500 without paying sales tax. The Florida Retail Federation anticipates that parents of K-12 students will spend an average of $858 on school-related expenses, while families with college students may spend around $1,326, with electronics being the largest expense. Retailers are expected to offer additional promotions during this period to attract shoppers. For more information click here.
