Tampa’s housing market slides in national rankings, experts remain optimistic

housing market has experienced a notable decline in national rankings, dropping from 9th to 29th place in Zillow’s 2025 hottest housing markets list. This 19-spot decrease is among the most significant for any city. Factors contributing to this decline include the aftermath of Hurricanes Helene and Milton, which have raised concerns among buyers and sellers regarding flood-prone areas. Additionally, increased insurance costs and higher interest rates have influenced market dynamics. Despite this downturn, experts remain optimistic. The Urban Land Institute still ranks Tampa-St. Petersburg fourth among the top 10 real estate markets for 2025, indicating continued growth potential. Mortgage rates have remained stable over the past two years and are expected to do so in the coming year, suggesting a strong market outlook for 2025.  for more information click here.
