Gary earned his law degree from American University Washington College of Law and attended the Université de Paris X-Nanterre School of Law in Paris, France. He received his undergraduate degree from Rhodes College, in Tennessee and attended the Université de Paris – Sorbonne, where he studied French language and literature.
