Florida Legislature Delays Budget Due to Tax Relief Disagreements

The Florida Legislature will need extra time to finalize the state budget as lawmakers remain divided over proposed tax relief packages. The Senate has suggested a $3 billion plan focusing on temporary and targeted tax cuts, including reduced vehicle fees and a business rent tax cut. Meanwhile, the House proposes a more extensive $5 billion package with broader, permanent tax reductions, including a 0.75% sales tax cut and reallocation of tourist development taxes.

With the July 1 fiscal deadline approaching, a Special Session is expected to resolve the differences and pass the final budget and tax legislation. for moreinformation click here.
