Map Shows States With Lowest Real-Estate Taxes
Florida's property taxes are relatively low compared to the national average. The state's average property tax rate is 0.80% of the property's value, below the national median of 0.99%. However, recent years have seen significant increases in property tax bills in several Florida cities. For instance, since 2019, Jacksonville's property tax bills have risen by nearly 60%, Tampa's by 57%, and Miami's by 48%. Despite these increases, Florida remains an attractive destination for retirees, partly due to its tax-friendly policies, including the absence of a state income tax. For more information click here.
